...was to go and see 'Mission Impossible III' to celebrate Mother's Day. It was a good movie, though there was, I thought, quite a lot of gratuitous blowing up of things. I couldn't help thinking that if it was real life that things would be done a little more stealthily and a little less dramatically, but then it would have made a very boring film. Anyway without giving too much away - it was my kind of movie, with a few twists and turns about who are the goodies and who are the baddies along the way.
I couldn't help noticing that Tom Cruise's teeth are a little out of line and wondered why he hadn't had them 'fixed'.
I got some great books as gifts from Lucy, Sam, and Edward - "Greetings from the Knit Cafe", "Mason-Dixon Knitting" and Harlan Coben's latest "Promise Me" - all from my wish list and very much appreciated. There are at least three things I would like to make from Knit Cafe - the Chanel Jacket, the polo shirt and the slouchy cardigan. I haven't had a chance to look at Mason-Dixon properly - it's a book you need to sit down and read, rather than just skim through to look at the pictures. I am a big Harlan Coben fan, and this latest one is a Myron Bolitar story, the first one in six years, and should be good. I don't know now whether to keep reading the Patricia cornwell that I have out of the library, or get straight on with this one.
Lucy and Charlie are back home, because Lucy starts her Summer (and final) Semester tomorrow. It's good to have them both back.
We bought plants to go in the window boxes today. I will wait til tomorrow to plant them now though as it suddenly seems to have got quite late.
We are finishing the day with dinner cooked on the barbecue, and the usual Sunday TV and knitting.
Hope all you Moms that read this have had a Great Mother's Day too.
