I had to go to the dentist this morning. As I have said before I am a baby about the dentist, so of course this morning I was irritable, over-sensitive and nervous. (How is that different to usual the witty among you will be thinking!).
Luckily my appointment was early at 9.00am so I didn't have to wait long. I needed two fillings done, one tiny one that he did without anaesthetic and one to replace an old filling that was crumbling. The first one went OK. He drilled and it didn't hurt at all. The second one went OK too, but he and the nurse were talking about how useless the equipment was and were distracted with trying to get the water adjusted properly - it was prolific and he splashed my face every time he moved the drill. Then he suddenly said mid-drill, "I'd better go and get my glasses!" WTF? (first time I have used that expression in my blog - but appropriate here I think). It turned out just to be protective glasses but then they kept getting splashed so weren't much help.
Anyway here I am post dentist and still frozen, but much more relaxed.
Lucy (she arrived home safe and sound BTW)is feeling very pleased with herself and we are very pleased for her too. She went to pick up the paper she wrote for one of her courses over the summer and her professor gave her 99% and suggested that she should enter it into a competition and submit it for publication in the Hinkley Journal of Politics at the U. A great accomplishment and it would be great recognition for her. Well done, Lucy!
This was doing the rounds yesterday - please go see it if you haven't already.
I could watch it all day. I don't think I will try it myself though!
And for Ricky Gervais/Office fans there's this gem in case you haven't already seen it - about 2/3 of the way down the page:
May come back and say more later, but have to go now.
