The Cutest Things You Ever Did See!

These arrived today - and they have to be the cutest things you ever did see!20070112_002 Well OK, I will allow you to know that your own babies, when they were born, were the cutest things you ever did see, but these must be a close second!  They came from Wee Ones and they are tiny, but perfectly formed.

This is the best bit20070112_003 - can you see the tiny paw prints on his paws? You can get some idea about their size compared with my fingers.  Jillian at Wee Ones makes all kinds of animals and will take special requests too!

Here is my first sock ever in progress
.  I am well on the way to losing my sock virginity.  Having turned the heel successfully with only a couple of minor hiccups, I consider myself to have passed first base.  Up to then it was just knitting a tube which can apply to lots of other projects as well as socks.20070112_006 I am using Trekking XXL yarn that Katherine gave me for my birthday in a fabulous mixture of blues, the very generic Anne Budd pattern from her Handy Book Of Patterns, and the two circular method which I am finding great to use, apart from the occasional lapse in concentration when I somehow end up with all the stitches on one needle!  It's easily sorted out though and off I go again.  This pair will be my January contribution to the Crafty Threads And Yarns Sock-a-month challenge.  I have been trying them on as I go and they fit nicely.  I don't have extremely skinny ankles - that's the k2,p2 rib pulling them in!  I am very nearly at the toe and that will be second base.  Third and fourth base will be the second sock - I guess you have to make the whole pair to qualify as "someone who has made socks"
