Two things in today's paper were of particular interest to me.
The first was that a bill to stop teens in Utah using their cell phones while driving was passed by a House Committee and now moves to the House floor. Cellphone use while driving will only be a secondary offence - they must be stopped for some other reason first.
I don't know why there is any question that cell phone use - especially texting - while driving is not a good idea for anyone - not just teens.
The second thing was about one of my favourite vegetables, not necessarily for it's taste but for it's mathematical interest. The Romanescu cauliflower or broccoli is a perfect example of spirally Fibonacci fractal-ness.
Here is a link to a really good picture Romanescu Cauliflower
I could look at them all day!
