Today for the first time in ages Lucy and I decided to go to the gym for a Pilates class at 8.00 this morning. The sky was very black but it wasn't actually snowing when I left. About half way through the class however we suddenly noticed that it definitely was snowing and when we left the gym I could hardly find the car as there was at least 2 inches of snow over everything and it was still snowing very hard. Lucy helped me brush all the snow off and I set off home very slowly. It took me forty minutes instead of the usual 10-15 minutes and there were cars slithering all over the place all around me. Visibility was practically nil, which is why I didn't notice the huge snow plough behind me until it honked to get me to move over to let it pass. The only way I could go was on the other side of the road, which I wasn't happy about doing but at least with the plough in front of me it was clearing my path. I eventually got home safely in our little All Wheel Drive Subaru and it got a pat on the steering wheel in appreciation of that fact.
Later on I went out to shovel the snow off the driveway. I had managed to clear two tracks all the way down so the cars could come up, but then Gary arived home and got the snow blower out (you have to cast a magic spell that I do not have enough powers for - despite my compatibility with Dumbledore - to get it to work). Here are some pictures in the early evening sun. In case you were wondering the house across the road has driveway heating!
