I saw this book in Barnes and Noble today - Twinkle's Big City Knits: 31 Chunky-chic Designs by Wenlan Chia - and I really liked many of the designs and it has pictures of a Boston Terrier in it - good so far! BUT then I looked at the sizes of some of the patterns and I couldn't believe it! The size small in many cases was for a bust size 22", and the most generous size I could find was for a 35" bust. I checked to make sure they weren't patterns for kids, but no, definitely for grown-ups. I looked at the pictures of the models and actually many do appear to be quite emaciated. Sorry but I won't be buying this book!
I did buy this book though - Towel Folding 101 by Deanna Campbell. I had seen another book on the same topic in the Sky Mall catalog on the plane and was intrigued. Remember the table napkin chicken, Carolinne? Well these animals are mostly built on the same idea. This is my first attempt at a cat:
I think I need some practice and some crisper, starchier towels!
I have been feeling a bit blah lately and have had no inspiration for any knitting or any other project - as Carolinne would say, Mr and Mrs Imagination have gone on holiday - maybe they are still in Washington. Anyway this (and some chocolate) have gone a little way to cheer me up and I hope they will be back soon. I have to think up a key ring design for a Crafty Threads n Yarns swap , make something with cables in spring colours for SnB and an Ambigram for Nagfa's April challenge all during the next week or so, so they had jolly well better!
Hope you are all having a good weekend!
