The first of the four stages of learning is "unconscious incompetent", and that is where I am with my jewellery making. I don't know what I am doing, and I am not very good at it! I hope that accounts for why i thought I could just go straight into it without thinking I needed any advice or instruction, and not sheer arrogance. Also I was so excited by all the beads that I guess I didn't even think about the finishing part other than that I needed a pair of miniature needle nosed pliers.
Thank you Auntie Noo for pointing me in the right direction for doing the loops on the ends of my headpins. I used silver which is quite thin and I think really needs to be wrapped for strength, but I will practice making the simple loops with a thicker wire first, and when I get good at that I will treat myself to some more tools that will help me with the wrapping.
I will go and practice lots and will not post pictures again until I am least a "conscious competent" and have some neat and tidy, well formed loops to show.
OMGoodness! I've just noticed that you have me in your sidebar wotsit majiggything!! I'm so excited!! Thank you Jaquie!
I love your stitch markers by the way, they are absolutely lovely. I couldn't even begin to make one, so I think you're an expert already.

Don't be so hard on yourself Jacquie - I did EXACTLY the same thing - bought a few bits on eBay and thought I was an expert!! - It's great fun though, and I think your first stitch markers look really great. At least you're lucky in the US to have all those super interweave beading magazines for help and tips! Enjoy!!!!
